The Texas Zoo is in the market for hard-working, passionate college students, or recent graduates, that are interested in developing experience in the zoological field. We offer 4 different internships that will allow students to dive deep into the department of their choosing, but will still encompass a variety of positions within the zoo to give the student a well-rounded internship. While none of the internships are paid, they will provide the experience needed for individuals seeking employment within the zoo industry. Housing is not provided, but The Texas Zoo will assist interns in finding affordable housing options.

Animal Health & Welfare
The Animal Health & Welfare Intern will have the opportunity to conduct environmental research on the animals within our collection, assist in the care of clinic animals, create new and exciting programming for the public, and innovate creative enrichment for multiple species.
Conservation Education
The Conservation Education Intern will assist with all on and off site educational programs, camps, special events, along with the daily care of the education animal collection. Interns will get the chance to develop new programming and informative graphics throughout the park.
Public Relations & Marketing
The Public Relations & Marketing Intern will assist with the zoo’s online presence, event planning, and media relations. Interns will have the unique opportunity to track and grow emerging social media accounts on multiple platforms, while exploring their creativity in graphic design.
