Andrew Countis, President

The President of the Board of Directors serves as the chief governance and strategic leader of the organization, providing vision, direction, and oversight to ensure the long-term success and sustainability of the Texas Zoo. The President leads the Board in establishing strategic priorities, fostering sound governance, supporting the Executive Director, and advancing the Zoo’s mission through effective leadership, financial stewardship, and community engagement.

Tammy Rands, Vice President

The Vice President of the Board of Directors serves as a strategic partner to the President, supporting the Board’s governance, strategic priorities, and organizational leadership. The Vice President assists with Board operations, leads special initiatives as assigned, and assumes the duties of the President in the President’s absence or inability to serve.

Woodrow Wagner, Treasurer

The Treasurer of the Board of Directors provides oversight of the organization’s financial health, ensuring sound fiscal stewardship, financial transparency, and compliance with applicable laws and policies. The Treasurer works with the Executive Director, staff, and Finance Committee to monitor financial performance, review budgets and financial reports, and advise the Board on financial matters affecting the Zoo.

 

Katie Pool, Secretary

The Secretary of the Board of Directors is responsible for maintaining accurate Board records, ensuring proper documentation of meetings and official actions, and supporting compliance with the organization’s bylaws and policies.
